Community Service is often a requirement for entry into organizations or completion of degrees and even scholarship opportunities.

Colleges search for well-rounded students who participate in extracurricular and cocurricular activities. In fact, about one in three college admissions officers say they consider volunteering in the local community the most impressive activity of a potential student.

Poodle Rescue of Houston is happy to offer community service hours helping take care of our many rescued dogs in order for students to fulfill their organizational or degree requirements.

We will work around your school schedule and train you on how we do things at Poodle Rescue of Houston.

Student Volunteer Activities would consist of any combination of the following:

  • feeding the dogs
  • cleaning kennels & food bowls
  • washing dogs
  • maintaining the grounds
  • prepping for adoption days (setting up viewing areas, etc)
  • washing blankets and dog beds
